THE WRECK OF THE DUSTING FAMILIES VALIENT SEDAN               #2

DUSTING Family

Pictured is a Valiant sedan wrecked in an accident which placed three members of a local family in hospital. Mr Les Dusting, the driver, was travelling along Moore’s Dam Road on 14th February 1971  and pulled to the left to allow an oncoming vehicle to pass.
Over correcting his car the vehicle skidded for a considerable distance along the road at a 45° angle before coming to rest heavily against a tree.
Mr Dusting's passengers were his wife Florence and son Raymond.
Mr Dusting, who had sustained severe lacerations to his face and head extracted himself from the wreckage and walked some three quarters of a mile for help.
The boy aged 16 years, sustained a broken leg and wrist and other injuries which required his being transferred to a hospital in Perth.
Mrs Dusting was also injured but it has been reported that all three are progressing satisfactorily.
